| Bio: | "I love my country; by which I mean I am indebted joyfully to all the people throughout its history who have fought the government to make right." -ani difranco, "Grand Canyon" "In this sense the Dionysian man resembles Hamlet: both have once looked truly into the essence of things, they have gained knowledge, and nausea inhibits action; for their action could not change anything in the eternal nature of things; they feel it to be ridiculous or humiliating that they should be asekd to set right a world that is out of joint. Knowledge kills action; action reqauires the veils of illusion: that is the doctrine of Hamlet, not that cheap wisdom of Jack the Dreamer who reflects too much and, as it were, from an excess of possibilities does not get around to action. Not reflection, no - true knowledge, an insight into the horrible truth, outweighs any motive for action, both in Hamlet and in the Dionysian man." -Nietzche, the Birth of Tragedy “…all love-making to one less instructed than oneself has the added delicious thrill which comes from the consciousness of perverting, of pulling them down into the mud from which passions rise – together with poems and theories of God.” -Durrell, Balthazar “Why shouldn’t the death of a person you love bring you into a lurid ruin? You don’t know how to love the ones you love until they disappear abruptly.” -DeLillo, The Body Artist "Man, when a fag and a dyke have sex, it's still queer sex!" -Travis Jeppesen, October 1999 "'The path is the Stone. The point of departure is the Stone. If these words are unclear to you, you have not yet begun to understand. Every step you take is the goal you seek.'" - Jorge Luis Borges, The Rose of Paracelsus "...he did not think his work burdensome, because he was doing it for a dying man and hoped someone would do the same for him when his time came." --Tostoy, the Death of Ivan Ilych ![]() Welcome to what has been dubbed by some as the LiveEpic. Because of a sequence of incidents, most of the interesting material of this journal is now friends-only; feel free to request access.
